City Safari

Let me just start off by saying that I really hope you all are doing well and keeping yourselves protected and safe from the ongoing pandemic of Chikungunya and Dengue. The transitioning weather hosts such medical issues, and breeds so many viral infections.. if you’re feeling a little under the weather lately, hold tight and please feel well soon! <3

September has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. I’d already been feeling low and unmotivated for a few weeks that led to September, and even though I had very many plans and ideas for the blog, I just couldn’t get myself to execute too many of them. And just when I was feeling bogged down and generally grumpy, one early morning..in walks Praful. Still in bed, curled up in the comforter, I could barely open my eyes to see this tall, bearded, overly happy boy hovering over me to surprise me!! What a wonderful morning..what a beautiful surprise! In the many years of working on our relationship from countries apart, this has been the very first time he’d given me a surprise visit….and now I’m sitting here, holding my breath for the next one! : D
Along with this amazing surprise, September also rolled in a few medical concerns for the both of us, that we’re working on resolving now. Hopefully we’ll both take control of the situation and jump right back on track in no time!
With a little bit of help ( from P), I am back to feeling whole again, and back to feeling happy and excited for what I plan to do in this new month of October! It’s going to be one hell of a month, with 2 Birthdays in my family, Durga Puja/Navratris and Diwali! As I said in my previous post, this is my absolute favourite time of the year and I have some amazing things to look forward to on both personal and work fronts! (promise to fill you in on the details super soon) = )

My spin on City Safari is just an embodiment of the fickle weather lately. One day its humid and so unbearably hot, and the next day it’s so pleasant that you feel you fast forwarded right into the November territory! It’s everything this transitioning season brings with it and it’s all that has come to be in India.
I fell into this look keeping in tune with fringes and distressed shorts from the Summer that are infused with the colour palette and styling sensibilities of Autumn. It’s perfectly practical for that weird ‘in-between’ weather when you don’t know if it’s going to drench you in sweat by the end of the day or catch you off-guard with the surprisingly cool evening breeze. Either way…this outfit has got you covered ! ; )
